Tanzania will play host to Uganda in the final of the 2020 CECAFA Challenge Cup U-20 on Wednesday, 2nd November at the Black Rhino Academy, Karatu.
The Tanzania event doubles as a CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup and an AFCON U-20 Qualifier with the finalists (Tanzania and Uganda) making it to the AFCON U-20 finals due in Mauritania next year.
Uganda go head to head with Tanzania knowing that the hosts are defending champions hence they have both good odds and a home advantage.
According to the FUFA website, Uganda’s head coach Morley Byekwaso is optimistic that the final will be interesting since both sides have ball players and the better organized country on the day will win the trophy.
“I anticipate a great game of football. Both countries have both players and the better side on the day will win the trophy’ Byekwaso disclosed to FUFA media after the final training session on the match eve.
Last time out (in the Semi-finals), Uganda beat Kenya 3-1 while Tanzania beat South Sudan 1-0 to book a slot in the Mauritania event and also pursue for the CECAFA Challenge Cup U-20 trophy.
