Vipers SC maintained their Uganda Premier League (UPL) winning streak with a comprehensive 3 – 5 victory against Busoga United on Sunday at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Vipers’ Geoffrey Wasswa opened the scoring in the 17th minute through a brilliant free kick after his side had fired blanks earlier on.
The hosts were also charged up as they evened scores in the 25th minute through George Kasonko.
Two minutes later, Vipers regained their lead through Milton Kariisa who gave the title holders a 1-2 half time lead.
10 minutes after the break, Karim Watambala stretched Vipers lead after finding the bottom corner with a strong effort. He was named man of the match.
However, one minute later Busoga pulled one back through Ismail Mugulusi who offered his side a chance for redemption.
However, Paul Mucureezi’s late brace (70″ 84″) buried Busoga’s chances of getting any point and Paul Ssekulima’s strike in the 87th minute was just a mere consolation.
In the other matchday five fixture, Kyetume FC beat BUL FC 1-0 at the same venue. Baker Buyala’s goal was the only difference in this match.
The Uganda Premier League will resume in February 2021 after CHAN tournament.
