Eddie Okila will be vying to become Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) President for third straight time as he intends to be among the candidates for the 2021 elections.
Okila, a former UVF Technical Director and Administrator will be among Presidential candidates at the UVF Elective Congress set to take place on 31st January 2021 at UOC (Uganda Olympic Committee), Lugogo Sports Complex in Kampala.
In his former two attempts to become president, Okila lost to Sadik Nasiwu in 2013 and Hadija Namanda in 2017.
In an interview with Inside Volleyball, Okila also an Entrepreneur, Television Broadcaster, Marketing Enthusiast, Leadership Coach and, Health & Fitness Coach revealed his plan for the volleyball fraternity once entrusted with office.
“I will ensure an all-inclusive developmental leadership with very clear national strategy for the game in the country not long useless academic cv’s,” Okila told Inside Volleyball.
“I will also advocate for true integrity and transparent leadership not thieving leadership out of the game. I will offer selfless leadership that will nurture talent not use it for their own children gain at the expense of the nation.”
“We shall also expose deeply administrators who don’t follow the law and constitution that governs the game in the country.”
Among others (if any), Okila will be up against two perennial rivals; incumbent Hadija Namanda and former president Sadik Nasiwu who is seeking a comeback to the top volleyball chair.
