Express FC captain Enock Walusimbi is nothing short of a true leader that not even a change in a defensive role can shake him up.
The versatile defender who was until recently in the last league game, a 1 – 0 win over arch rivals S.C Villa deployed as a right back a role he executed well states that it wasn’t the first time he played at right back and that he’s always ready for deployment in whatever defensive position available.
“Firstly it wasn’t my first time to play right back in that game (vs SC Villa) though it had been a while since I’d last played there and just like I play at centre back I was as comfortable as they come and I believe I put in a good shift therefore for whichever defensive role the head coach (Wasswa Bossa) deploys me in, I’ll always be ready,” Walusimbi told the club website.
“Lucio” like he’s fondly called was also quick to credit his charges for a solid display in all the games he missed as he served his suspension after he was sent off on match day one away in Arua against Onduparaka.
“At Express we have quite a good number of leaders so I’m always sure even in my absence the boys will pull through and they did a good job although we’re not yet done because we’ve a long way to go,” Walusimbi added.
Walusimbi who missed the club’s first league win of the season which also doubled as the first home win against Bright Stars and the trip away to Mbarara City before returning to face Villa in the derby shifted to right back replacing the then injured Charles Musiige but also because the head coach didn’t want to interfere with the center back partnership of Isa Lumu and Murushid Juuko which seemed solid in the previous games.
