However, Okila has finally revealed that he will contest for presidency, with the federation’s Elective Congress set to take place on 31st January 2021 at UOC, Lugogo Sports Complex in Kampala.
“I am announcing today my candidacy for the Presidency of the Uganda Volleyball Federation – UVF. The UVF has the mission to govern and manage in Uganda, all forms of Volleyball (including Beach Volleyball and Park Volleyball) through professional planning and world-class organisation, marketing and promotional activities; it aims to develop Volleyball as a major entertainment sport in the country.
Since 1996, I have been in and around volleyball, serving and also observing.
It is with this image that I begin this campaign for UVF President 2021-2024.’ Okila told Inside Volleyball.
Okila has unsuccessfully contested for Presidency in the past two elective Congresses.
Okila now joins former Federation President, Sadik Nasiwu and incumbent Hadija Namanda for a quest to lead Volleyball in the next four years.
