Uganda U-20 men’s national football team, Hippos have on Wednesday left for Mauritania ahead of the AFCON U-20 Finals.
The Hippos left Tanzania’s Julius Nyerere Airport at 5 am aboard Egypt Air and are expected to arrive in Nouakchott, Mauritania on Thursday morning at around 2 am.
The team has been camped in Tanzania for trial games with both teams (Uganda and Tanzania) set to represent the CECAFA region at the tournament.
Uganda Hippos are in Group A and will play against Mozambique in the first match on 15th February 2021. The second match will be on 17th February against Cameroon before going head-to-head with the hosts Mauritania in the last group match on 20th February 2021.
Hippos will be marking their debut at the tournament with the event marking its 16th staging.
