Uganda Premier League
Wakiso Giants FC vs KCCA FC| 4: 00 PM (EAT)
@Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium, Wakiso
KCCA FC will seek to maintain their winning streak when they visit Wakiso Giants on Tuesday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium, Wakiso in one of the match day nine Uganda Premier League (UPL) fixtures.
KCCA are fresh from a 5-0 win against MYDA FC over the weekend and will seek to continue that way when they host a Wakiso side that shared spoils with URA FC in Ndejje.
KCCA Head Coach Mike Mutebi believes that the weekend result against MYDA will motivate his boys when they take on Wakiso today.
“The game against MYDA gave the lads confidence and we shall pick on from that game and hopefully we use that as a stepping stone.I am happy with my center forwards scoring. If we can get goals from midfielders like Anukani, Mugume and Keziron then we shall be unplayable given the chances we create,” Mutebi told the club website.
However, Mutebi isn’t carried away by the MYDA result and has ruled out any room for complacency.
“We are facing a side that has not lost a game in the league this season and are playing well. We need to be on top of our game against them if we are to pick maximum points,” Mutebi added.
In this fixture last season, KCCA FC were 1-0 winners over Wakiso Giants at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. Allan Okello’s goal inside five minutes was all the 13 times Champions needed to grab three points.
However, the teams did not get to face each other for the reverse fixture because of the COVID-19 pandemic that led to suspension of the league.
KCCA FC go into match day nine sitting seventh on the table with 13 points from eight games.
Hosts Wakiso FC are unbeaten in the league this season but are 10th on the table. In the eight league games played so far, they have picked up one win and shared spoils seven times.
KCCA FC know a win against Wakiso Giants away in the league will boost the confidence of the side ahead of the fixtures ahead against Kitara and Busoga.
Wakiso’s Bukenya Lawrence and Tom Masiko are among the former KCCA FC players that could face former employers KCCA FC at Wakissha.
