Ahead of their clash with Onduparaka FC on Wednesday 24th February 2021, Police FC are seeking to bounce back from their previous Uganda Premier League (UPL) defeat when they host the Arua based side at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Police are still hurting from their controversial loss to title holders Vipers SC last weekend.
In a match day eight fixture played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, Police goal keeper Derrick Ochan was sent off in the 40th minute for allegedly catching the ball outside his boundaries and the referee’s contested decision made the Cops lose 3-2 albeit a dominant display.
However, Police have put the Kitende misfortunes behind and now seek for redemption but against an inform Onduparaka side.
“We are ready for Onduparaka,” Police Coach Abdallah Mubiru told the club media after the team’s training session on Tuesday.
Police are currently third on the table with 16 points but could return back to second (on goal difference against Express FC) if they beat Onduparaka today.
On the other hand, Onduparaka seems to have come of age and currently sit sixth on the table and could climb to fourth position if they pick maximum points at Lugogo.
“Onduparaka have of recent picked good form and I’m sure they going to come full of confidence having beaten Kyetume and UPDF recently,” Police’s Mubiru admitted.
“We know they are a threat, they are a good team but our ambitions are bigger. Our morale and spirits are high, our vision is still alive despite the fact that we got a set back,” Mubiru added.
In there last meeting, Police emerged 2-1 winners against Onduparaka at Lugogo.
