The third edition of the Tennis For All National Junior Open will be played on Saturday, 27th, and Sunday, 28th February 2021 at the East Kololo Primary School courts in Kampala.
The two-day juniors showpiece is anticipated to attract over 40 players with the event being split into three age categories, that is; under eight, under 10, and under 12.
“Generally, we are well prepared for this tournament as most of the players have already returned their registration entry forms,” Tournament Director Julius Kyobe said.
Kyobe adds that the format of play is round-robin.
Kyobe also revealed that they intend to follow safety measures to curb any possible spread of Covid-19 pandemic among the athletes.
“As part of the Covid SOPs, we intend to provide face mask to each of the players attending the tournament, checking body temperature and recording their results, encouraging all our players to maintain social distance of the two meters and the like,” Kyobe noted.
With sport just recovering from the impact of the pandemic, Kyobe believes that this tournament will give the young players the opportunity to compete again.
The Tennis For All National Junior Open started in January 2020 with the aim of giving young players all over the country an opportunity to compete at a national level.
