UPL: Vipers Return To Summit After Win Over Bright Stars

Vipers SC are back to the top of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) table after their 2-0 win against Bright Stars FC on Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The triumph means that Vipers who are titleholders return to the top of the table off 27 points, two ahead of second-placed Express FC.

Vipers goals were scored by Ceaser Manzoki and substitute Jamil Kalisa who found the back of the net late in the game after both sides shot blanks earlier on.

Manzoki drilled first blood in the 60th minute while Kalisa slotted home in the 4th minute of added time (94th minute).

The result implies that Bright Stars remain 9th with 14 points after 11 games.

Both sides return to action on Saturday with Vipers traveling away to Mbarara City FC on while Bright Stars host Onduparaka FC.

Bashir Ssekagya (GK), Paul Willa, Disan Galiwango, Bashir Asiku, Halid Lwaliwa, Musa Ssali, Paul Mucurezi, Karim Watambala, Ceaser Manzoki, Yunus Ssentamu, Ibrahim Orit.
