Uganda Premier League title holders Vipers SC are back to the top of the table after registering an impressive 3-0 win against SC Villa on Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The win implies that Vipers return to the league summit off 30 points after 13 matches, joint with URA but they (Vipers) have a better goal difference.
The Venoms tormented their visitors following a bright start to the game after they scored twice ten minutes into play.
Dan Sserunkuma opened the scoring earlier in the game after capitalizing on Karim Watambala’s assist to slot home.
Moments later, Disan Galiwango released a nice ball to Yunus Ssentamu who slotted home from the area. Sserunkuma was also involved in this one as he had earlier on had a quick exchange with Galiwango.
After a 2-0 lead at the interval, Vipers continued their dominance by the Joggos were also fighting hard to get back into the game but instead shot blanks.
With 10 minutes to play, Paul Willa put an icing on the cake with a thunderous strike to put the game beyond reach for the visitors.
In their next fixtures, Vipers are away to joint table toppers URA on Saturday while Villa hosts Onduparaka FC on Sunday.
