The 2021 Women and Men’s African Volleyball Club Championships are back on stage after being called off in 2020 due to COVID-19.
According to the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) press release, Tunisia Volleyball Federation will host these events in Souse City from the 16th to the 28th of May 2021.
The championships will see top women and men’s volleyball clubs across Africa compete for the respective continental titles.
CAVB has set April 4th as the registration deadline and May 2nd as final confirmation for participation.
Ahly of Egypt are the defending champions in both categories of the continental clubs do.
Each participating nation will field two teams for each category, mostly according to their performance on the domestic scene.
As it stands now, Nkumba University and KCCA women’s teams will represent Uganda at the women’s continental club event. Nkumba are Uganda women’s national volleyball league title holders as well as Club Championship winners while KCCA finished as runners up in the league playoffs.
Nemostars and Uganda Christian University (UCU) men’s teams are the Ugandan sides that will feature at the event. Nemostars are league title holders while UCU won the Club Championship in Lira.
