Basketball: Agutu Returns To KIU Titans

National Basketball League (NBL) outfit KIU Titans have announced the signing of small forward Samuel Agutu.

Agutu re-joins Titans from Betway Power on a two-year deal.

“I feel like this is home for me because I have played here for almost seven years from
high school to the time I left. I didn’t play much for the last two years so this is kind of
a new start for me,” said Agutu via the club’s press release.

The 6’4” star was part of the Titans team that reached the National Basketball League finals in 2017 and says the goal is now to win it all.

“I bring the same energy and more. Whatever the team will ask of me is what I will do. 2017 was more of unfinished business for us, our goal was to reach the finals and now it’s to win it all,”  Agutu added.

Agutu’s first run with KIU Titans was from 2013 to 2018.

Ogutu becomes the fourth player to return to the Kansanga based side with domestic basketball set to tip-off on 2nd April 2021.

Earlier this month, centre Oscar Muge returned from JKL Dolphins while small forward Denis Balungu returned to Titans after spending last year with Betway Power.
