National Basketball League (NBL) outfit Kampala International University (KIU) Titans have announced the signing of Stanley Mugerwa.
Mugerwa joins Titans from Warriors Basketball Club on a two-year deal and says that he’s delighted to complete the move.
“I’m happy to join Titans. The team has ambitions and I felt I could make my contribution,” said Mugerwa.
The 6’6” power forward brings a wealth of international experience to the team having played for the country in the FIBA 2019 Basketball World Cup Qualifiers
and the FIBA 2021 AfroBasket Qualifiers.
“Stanley is an experienced big man and he will obviously add a lot to the group. He can rebound and score too. We are pleased to have him,” said head coach Brian Wathum.
Mugerwa becomes the fifth player to be unveiled by the Kansanga based side in this transfer window with the NBL season tip-off just days away.
Earlier on, four players returned to the KIU men’s team, that is; Samuel Agutu who rejoined the side from Power Basketball Club. Earlier last month, centre Oscar Muge returned from JKL Dolphins while small forward Denis Balungu returned to Titans after spending last year with Betway Power.
Power forward Moreen Atulinda returned to KIU female side, Rangers after spending the previous two seasons with Women’s NBL title holders JKL Lady Dolphins.
