-Express FC vs URA FC @3pm
-Kyetume FC vs Police FC
The Uganda Premier League continues on Saturday with two mouth-watering fixtures.
In Wankulukuku, Express FC host leaders URA FC at the Betway Mutessa II Stadium.
Express FC were slowed down towards the end of the first round as they were struggling to pick up results.
In their final three games, they won just once with the victory coming away to Police FC on the final day of the opening round.
Their turn in form coincided with the injury to striker George Ssenkaba who is probably out for the rest of the campaign.
Since his injury, they Red Eagles have struggled in front of goal as they have scored only two goals in their last four games.
Frank Kalanda failed to fill Ssenkaba’s boots forcing Wasswa Bbosa to change the set up and play Erick Kambale in a false-nine role. The move paid off against the Cops as Kambale netted the winner in the final six minutes of the contest.
The Red Eagles will be expected to continue in the same set up against URA as they target vital points to close in on top spot.
For URA, they finished the first round top of the pile by three points and after seeing that lead whipped out by Vipers SC on Friday, they will seek a response on Saturday.
URA had their away form to thank for the lead at the end of the first round as they won six of their seven games on the road including all the last six.
It will be hard to beat Express at Wankulukuku but if they can, URA will have made a huge statement in the big to win this year’s title.
Express won the first game between the two sides 1-0 earlier in the season.
At Njeru, Police FC have made the short trip to face struggling Kyetume FC.
The first round encounter between the two sides ended 3-1 in favour of the cops.
This match comes at an opportune timing when the two teams had taken the much needed breather after a gruelling first round.
For Kyetume head coach Alex Isabirye, who recently acquired a new assistant Juma Ssekiziyivu, they will be seeking for the first win since replacing Charles Livingstone Mbabazi.
Currently stationed in the murky relegation waters, every match for Kyetume at this stage is equated to a cup finale.
Christened as the Slaughters, Kyetume has managed just 12 points from 15 matches, their worst start since being promoted to the top tier division.
On the other hand, Police is 6th on the log with 25 points (from 15 matches) with maximum points aimed at dislodging SC Villa from the 5th place.
