Wednesday, 07-04-2020
KCCA FC will take a first-leg advantage into the second leg of their Uganda Cup round of 32 after winning the first 4-2 at Lugogo on Wednesday afternoon.
A goal each from Bright Anukani, Julius Poloto, Sadat Anaku and Sam Ssenyonjo did the damage for the hosts who also conceded twice through Nyamityobora captain Clinton Komugisha.
Morley Byekwaso’s sides were quick out of the blocks as they took a three-minute lead through Anukani’s curling drive from outside the area.
Moments later,
Poloto made it two goals in as many games since returning from injury as he completed a brilliant solo run to slot home and double the host’s lead.
Nyamityobora was not just laying down for a beating and they responded through Komugisha on 22 minutes after the forward collected from Ivan Ahimbisibwe.
With halftime beckoning, Ashraf Mugume set up Anaku to restore KCCA’s two goal caution off a fierce drive from outside the area.
After the break, Nyamityobora once again reduced the deficit as Komugisha pounced on Charles Lukwago’s error.
Late in the game, Ssenyonjo struck the host’s fourth of the day to ensure they take a healthy advantage into the second leg.
