Emirates Invitational 7s, 2nd Tournament
*Uganda’s Fixtures:
10:12 EAT: Kenya vs Uganda
14:36 EAT: Spain vs Uganda
16:26 EAT: Canada vs Uganda
Uganda are pooled with neighbors and arch rivals Kenya, Spain and Canada in the Blue Pool for the second and final tournament weekend of the Emirates Invitational 7s that runs between 8-9th April 2021 in Dubai.
Uganda already faced Spain and Canada in the first tournament weekend and will play against Kenya for the first time in a tournament played behind closed doors at the The Sevens Stadium.
Uganda is the lowest ranked side out of the eight men’s teams at the invitational meet but managed to finish above Spain last time out after beating them 19-24 in a 7/8th placement game.
Uganda lost 38-07 to Canada on the opening matchday of the first tournament weekend.
Going forward, Uganda will again fancy coming good again Spain but they will also seek to right their wrongs against Canada and possibly tame Kenya which is also a huge side at the showpiece.
However, Canada are the women’s winners of the first event of the tournament after victory over USA in the main cup finals. Argentina beat France to win the men’s event in the first tournament weekend.
As they prepare for Olympics, the teams will train and play all rugby at The Sevens Stadium behind closed doors, with spectators not allowed in attendance.
