Onduparaka FC came from behind to beat Kitara FC 2-1 in on of the Uganda Premier League games played on Tuesday.
Nathan Oloro handed the visitors a surprise lead on 17 minutes, much against the run of play.
However, Onduparaka responded instantly as Mahdi Ajobe levelled matters six minutes later.
The hosts pressed for a second before halftime but Kitara held on to go into the break on level terms.
Three minutes past the hour mark, the pressure finally told as Noel Nasasira struck to put the Caterpillars in front.
Jospeh Mutyaba’s side held on to a victory, their first in four league games.
It was also the first league win under Mutyaba who took over from Viali Bainomugisha two weeks ago.
The win takes Onduparaka into 8th spot with 24 points while Kitara are still bottom on 5 points.
At Kakyeka, Ronald Onyai scored with three minutes to play as Mbarara City overcame MYDA FC 2-1.
The Ankole Lions had taken a 5th minute lead through Solomon Okwalinga but it was cancelled out by Mark Bassi at the half hour mark.
Victory take Mbarara to 20 points in 11th position while MYDA are still second from bottom on 6 points from 17 games.
At the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, BUL FC and Kyetume FC played to a 1-1 draw.
Robert Mukongotya scored for the hosts off a freekick on 72 minutes.
Substitute Raymond Walugembe equalized with six minutes to play after he was set up by Kaye.
The result means BUL climbs into 9th spot with 21 points while Kyetume stay in 14th on 13 points from 17 games.
