KCCA FC Striker Sadat Anaku has been named the Uganda Premier League player of the month of March.
Anaku beat off competition from URA’s Steven Mukwala and Busoga United’s Shaka Ssozi to bag the award.
The Kasasiros’ striker was in good form in the month as he scored six goals in the matches he played including a hat trick against Busoga United at Lugogo.
Speaking at the awards ceremony held at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo, Anaku thanked his coaches and fellow players at KCCA for helping him the award.
“I am very happy that i have won this award. Said Anaku.
“I thank my coaches and teammates for helping me win this award because without them, this would not have been possible.
“I encourage all youngsters to be motivated and have believe in themselves because that is the key to succeeding.”
At the same event, URA FC tactician Sam Simbwa was crowned as the best coach of March.
To win it, Simbwa was voted ahead of Express FC tactician Wasswa Bbosa and Abby Kikomeko of Busoga United.
Simbwa guided URA to five wins in as many games in March and saw his side end the month in top spot.
The Tax Collectors were in good form at both ends as they conceded just a single goal whilst scoring 10.
Both Anaku and Simbwa took home a plaque and One Million Shillings each.
Vipers’s Fred Kajoba and Police FC striker Brian Mululi were named coach and player of the month of February.
For December, it was UPDF FC coach Kefa Kisala and KCCA FC striker Brian Aheebwa.
The awards are awarded at the start of every month.
