-URA FC vs BUL FC

The Uganda Premier League will continue on Friday with two games involving the joint leaders of the standings.

In Hoima, Kitara FC host Vipers SC in the clash of the bottom vs the leaders.

Against the bottom side, Fred Kajoba’s side will know that anything short of a victory will be unwelcome by the Venoms faithful.

Vipers have been in scintillating form of late as they have won all their last five competitive games since losing to URA FC on match-day 14.

Three of those victories have come in the league as they have scored 8 goals in the process without conceding.

As a result, they have moved back on top of the standings with 39 points, level with URA but with a better goal difference.

With their defence improving of late, it is hard to see Kitara stopping them and with URA at home in their fixture on match-day 18, their is no room for error for the Venoms or else they risk letting the Tax Collectors return to the top of the log.

They welcome back Ibrahim Orit and Siraje Ssentamu who missed the win against Busoga on Tuesday. Orit was suspended while Ssentamu had an injury.

However, Fabien Mutombora, who punched team mate Aziz Kayondo, starts his three match suspension.

Kitara have been awful in their first ever top flight campaign and they look destined for an immediate return to the Big League.

After 17 games, they sit bottom of the log with just five points and there are clear indications that they will not be able to climb out of the bottom three by the end of the season.

Kitara’s main issue has been conceding so many goals and they have already let in 47, the second worst record in the league behind MYDA (48).

The are currently on a five game losing streak since beating Wakiso Giants towards the end of the first round.

The only positive for them is that they have been scoring goals of late, netting 10 times in their last six league outings.

They will however need to score more and produce a defensive masterclass if they are to take anything away from the game on Friday.

At Bombo, URA FC will host BUL FC at the Arena of Visions.

The Tax Collectors will be going for nothing but maximum points as they start the day second on the log, level on 39 points with leaders Vipers.

With the leaders away at Kitara in Masindi, URA FC will play with their ears in the other game as they hope for the Venoms to drop points.

However, they have to get their job done against BUL, a side they beat 2-0 in the first round at Bugembe thanks to a brace from Steven Mukwala.

Sam Ssimbwa was voted the best UPL player of March and will want to celebrate the achievement with a victory.

They come into the game on the back of a 2-0 deserved victory against KCCA, and will be fancying themselves against a mid table side.

BUL on the other hand, will be comfortable with a point on the road having gone three league games without a win.

They drew 1-1 with Kyetume FC in their last league games, conceding a late equaliser to drop points at home.
