Kataka FC beat Maroons FC 1-0 at Mbale Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.
In a game that was highlighted by heavy downpour, it was Peter Lusimbula who scores the day’s own goal to see the hosts walk away with all three points.
Having gone into the contest on a two-game losing streak, Maroons have now lost three games on the bounce.
The result takes Kataka top of the Elgon group for at least 24 hours before Thursday’s action.
The Mbale based now have 12 points, one ahead of second placed Arua Hill who host Gadaffi FC on Thursday.
For Maroons, they stay in fourth spot with seven points from six matches.
