URA FC moved four points clear of second-placed Vipers SC at the top of the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday following a 2-0 victory over Mbarara City FC at the Arena of Visions in Bombo.
Brian Majwega scored from a penalty on 10 minutes to hand the Tax Collectors the lead.
Captain Shafiq Kagimu added a second on the hour mark to ensure the Tax Collectors return to winning ways after drawing their past two games.
The win takes Sam Simbwa’s side to 47 points and they host Onduparaka FC in their next fixture on Friday.
For Mbarara City, they are now 10th on the log with 25 points.
At Bombo, SC Villa were held to a 1-1 draw by a spirited BUL FC side.
After a goalless first half, Musa Essenu who had threatened on several occasions, earlier, opened the scoring on 70 minutes to put BUL ahead.
Inside the four minutes added onto the 90, Muhammad Nsereko equalized for the Jogoos who have now gone five games without winning.
The result sees Villa stay in 7th on 31 points while BUL climbs into 9th with 25 points.
At Njeru, Busoga United and UPDF played out a goalless draw.
The draw sees Busoga stay in 12th on 24 points while UPDF maintains 6th spot on 32 points.
In Masindi, Nathan Oloro scored all four goals for Kitara FC as they came from behind to beat Kyetume FC 4-2.
After Robert Ssentongo had missed from the spot in the early exchanges, Nicholas Kasozi opened the scoring on 15 minutes to put the visitors in the lead.
Oloro equalized on 31 minutes from the spot before Kyetume custodian Joel Mutakubwa was sent off at the stroke of halftime.
Oloro pounced on the one-man advantage and netted his second seven minutes in to the second half.
However Sharif Ssaka drew Kyetume level on 60 minutes as they desperately searched for inspiration.
On 78 minutes, Oloro completes his hat trick to put Kitara back into the lead.
With two minutes to play, Oloro added a fourth to seal all three points for Kitara who, despite the win, stay bottom of the log with just 8 points from 21 games.
For Kyetume, they remain in 14th with 20 points.
