The Uganda Premier League will continue on Tuesday with five games on the cards.
Defending champions Vipers SC will be hoping to move top of the log when they take on Mbarara City at Kitende.
Sitting second, just a points below leaders URA FC, the Venoms will claim top spot with a draw or victory against the Ankole Lions.
There is a certain degree of concern for Fred Kajoba’s side who have not won at Kitende in all their previous three league outings.
They have drawn with URA and Wakiso Giants FC and lost to Express FC.
The game also has a feel of revenge as Mbarara city condemned Vipers to their first loss this season when they beat them 1-0 at Kakyeka.
Mbarara City will start the day in 9th position with 29 points and victory may see them climb into 8th if Wakiso fails to beat BUL FC in their fixture.
Four of the previous 5 meetings between these two sides have ended in stalemates. Mbarara city edged the latest at Kakyeka.
Vipers will be without Disan Galiwango has been ruled out through injury whereas Dan Mzee Serunkuuma has not yet recovered from a thigh problem. However, Midfielder Siraje Sentamu is fit again and has been passed to make the match day squad.
Mbarara city have not travelled with striker Henry Kitegenyi and midfielder Pistis Barenge who are both carrying injuries.
At Njeru, Express FC will also be eyeing top spot when they take on Busoga United FC.
The Red Eagles currently sit third on the log, two and one points behind URA and Vipers respectively.
Victory coupled with Vipers not beating Mbarara will see Express move top for the first time since match-day six as URA are not in action until Wednesday.
The Red Eagles are seeking to win their sixth consecutive league game and are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 over UPDF thanks to Eric Kambale.
For Busoga United, they are 13th and battling for safety having garnered 26 points, six above the relegation zone.
The Students lost their last league 3-0 to relegation-bound MYDA and will go into the contest deprived of confidence.
The past nine meetings between Express and Busoga United have seen the Red Eagles win three games while Busoga have managed four victories in the process.
