FUFA Big League
Arua Hill 2-0 Mbale Heroes
Goals from Allan Mugalu and Baden Mujahid helped Arua Hill SC complete a double-over Mbale Heroes during their FUFA Big League clash on Wednesday in Arua.
Mugalu headed home in the first half while Mujahid got his first league goal of the season in the closing stages of play.
Arua Hill still lead the Elgon Group with 23 points with an unbeaten run and could get direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League if they hold onto the summit.
Mbale Heroes’ collapse can partly be attributed to the two red cards they got in the second half after Buchochera Jamal was sent off in 52nd minute for rough play on Paddy Muhumuza
Hilbert Hatimu’s challenge on Brian Ade was also punished by a red card and the situation summarized the plight of Hussein Kheri’s side.
Arua Hill Head Coach Hussein Mbalangu wasn’t impressed with Mbale Heroes’ way of conduct claiming that they intended to harm his players.
“They came here not to play but kick. You saw how the goalie came and kicked Ade.
“Their intention was not to play football but to fight so we couldn’t score like we would wish when they come to break legs remember we are human beings, we don’t want to lose players so the game has been tough but we wanted to win and indeed we got what we wanted,” Mbalangu told the club website.
Arua Hill will hope to maintain their winning form when they face Calvary FC in 10 days time attempt to stay clear of Gadafi FC and Blacks Power who are breathing on their neck.
