Arua Hills Club Chairman Joel A’ita has praised the club after gaining promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The club on Sunday attained direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League 2021/22 season.
They registered a 4-0 win against Paidha Black Angels in Arua, finishing atop the Elgon Group with 30 points and also finishing the campaign unbeaten.
Prior to the just ended Big League season, the major target for Arua Hill was to qualify for the Uganda Premier League, the nation’s top tier football division.
With the main objective attained, Club Chairman Joel A’ita has heaped praise on the entire team, not forgetting partners and the fans.
“Eight months ago, we started a journey. Stage one of the journey has been achieved in the first season. Our target was to achieve promotion (to the Uganda Premier League) within two seasons,” A’ita said in a missive.
“I thank Development Infrastructure (team sponsor) for the support.”
“I want to thank the management of the team, the technical team and the great players and the fans who took their time to support the club,” A’ita added.
A’ita believes this is a new chapter
A’ita believes that Arua Hill’s arrival to the top for the first time will mark a new chapter in the game in various aspects.
“I would like to say this is the beginning of a new style of football in Uganda. Both in play style and business-wise. Ugandan football is going to change forever. We give glory to the almighty God for this success,” A’ita said.
The club’s other targets include; stabilizing the team and setting up systems.
Other targets include working on international engagements and having some of its players sold to foreign teams among others.
Meanwhile, Tooro United also attained direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
They registered a 1-0 win against Kigezi Homeboyz, finishing atop the Rwenzori Group with 31 points.
