Gazelles squad for Zone V Afrobasket qualifiers summoned

Ahead of the of the women’s Zone V Afrobasket qualifiers, local basketball governing body, Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has summoned 12 Gazelles (women’s national basketball team) players for a non-residential training
camp starting on Friday, 18th June 2021.

The women’s Zone V Afrobasket qualifiers will take place between 12th -17th July 2021 in Kigali Rwanda.

The summoned players who will be coached by Nicholas Natuhereza & Mavita Ali
are all locally based and feature for the Women’s National Basketball League outfits, that is; JKL Lady Dolphins, KCCA Leopards, UCU Lady Canons and KIU Rangers.

The Kigali Zone V event will see Ugandan charges face hosts Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and Burundi.

The winners from Kigali will represent the Zone V region at the event proper, the women’s FIBA Afrobasket Championship slated for September in Cameroon.
