BUL FC suspends all kinds of club activities

Uganda Premier League (UPL) side BUL FC has moved to suspend all its activities, both on and off the pitch as Covid-19 causes more havoc to various aspects of life.

This development follows President Yoweri Museveni’s address on Friday night where he among others suspended sports activities and all kinds of crowd pulling events, including both public and private transport as a Covid-19 preventive measure.

“…BUL Football Club would like to inform our dear stakeholders that we have halted all club activities until further notice. We shall hopefully resume work when the government makes another communication that supersedes the first one,” the club said via a statement.

With competitive play halted, the club offices will also temporarily also be closed to the public but the club CEO’s contact below will be available for further inquiries.

The club further continues to invite the general public to join the fight against the pandemic by observing the hygiene practices and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) as issued by the Ministry of Health, regularly.

However, though all clubs have suspended competitive play, others are still running technical business to avoid getting dragged behind once comepetitive play is reinstated.

BUL are currently 11th on the 16-team UPL table with 33 points off 27 matches.

Table toppers Express FC have 58 points and could be crowned champions of the 2020/21 season should FUFA prematurely end the league just like it was the case last season when Vipers (now third with 56 points) claimed the title after Covid-19 disrupted play with the league yet to be completed.
