Ugandan FIFA referee Dick Okello will officiate at the Total CAF Champions League final match between Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) and Al Ahly (Egypt) as second assistant referee. The match is slated for 17th July 2021 at Casablanca-Complexe Mohammed V in Morocco.
However, a statement by CAF dated 3rd July indicates that Dick Okello will replace country mate Lee Okello who was earlier on designated for the said post but has been let go due to technical reasons.
Other referees for the game are; Burundi’s Pacifique Ndabihawenima who will be centre referee while Cameroon’s Elvis Guy Noupue will be first assistant referee.
Gabon’s Eric Arnaud Otogo is the fourth official while Cameroon’s Allan Konate is the match commissioner.
Okello has already officiated at three CAF Champions League matches this year. His earlier assignments are the matches between Zamalek and Esperance (Group D) in Cairo, a clash between Al-Merrikh and Al Ahly and a quarterfinal first leg clash between MC Alger and Wydad Casablanca at the Stade du 5 Juillet.
The 2021 CAF Champions League Final will be the final match of the 2020–21 CAF Champions League, the 57th season of Africa’s premier club football tournament organised by CAF, and the 25th edition under the current CAF Champions League title.
