Striker Jude Ssemugabi has extended his contract at Mbarara City FC.
The lanky striker who was reported to be in talks with URA FC is understood to have penned a new two-year deal at the Ankole Lions.
He will now stay with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season.
His contract renewal was announced by the Ankole Lions on Wednesday night.
“We are delighted to announce that Jude Ssemugabi has extended his stay at the club for two more years till 2023.” Mbarara City announced.
Ssemugabi was integral as Mbarara City finished 7th last season, scoring five goals and assisting seven more.
He joins goalkeeper Martin Elungat as the two players that have renewed their contract in the current off-season.
Two more players, Solomon Okwalinga and Ivan Eyam, are understood to be in talks over contract extensions at the Ankole Lions.
