Erick Kambale has been voted as the Express FC fans’ player of the season and players’ player of the season for the 2020/21 campaign.
The forward beat competition from two team mates, Murushid Juuko and Godfrey Lwesibawa to be crowned the fans’ player of the season for the reigning Uganda Premier League (UPL) Champions.
Kambale also claimed the players’ player award after being unanimously selected by the players themselves.
According to Express FC Communications Director, Peter Tabu, it was entirely the fans who selected their player of the season nominees and later voted for the winner with Kambale triumphing with a 72% online poll.
134 votes were cast via Twitter and Facebook. Erick Kambale got 96 votes – 72%, Murushid Juuko had 22 votes – 16% while Lwesibawa trailed with 16 votes – 12%.
Kambale scored 15 UPL goals from 26 games in the just ended UPL campaign. He also scored 2 Uganda Cup goals from 5 games, including a combined 6 assists across the two events.
Express will possibly be banking on Kambale when Express represent the nation in the next season’s CAF Champions League and other domestic events.
