Uganda’s Boxers at the 2020 Japan Olympics have learned their opponents in the round of 32.
The Bombers have been in Japan since last month two will be in action this weekend following the draws that were conducted on Thursday, July 21.
Captain Shadir Musa received a bye to the round of 16 where he will face the winner between Azerbaijan’s Sotomaya Colazo Lorenzo and Madiev Eskerkhan of Georgia on 29th July.
Uganda’s first ever female Boxer representative Catherine Nanziri will face Japanese Namiki Tsukimi in the Flyweight category on Sunday, 25th July.
The winner between Nanziri and Namiki will lock horns with Sousa Grazielle of Brazil in the round of 16. Grazielle received a bye to the next round.
Uganda’s other Male boxer-David Ssemujju will face Algerian Younes Nemouchi on Sunday, the same opponent who defeated him in the semifinal of the Olympic qualification event in Dakar, Senegal.
Uganda is hoping for a first boxing medal at the Olympics since John Mugabi won Silver in Moscow 1980.
