Local football governing body, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has on Tuesday evening announced Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic as the Head Coach of the men’s national football team, the Uganda Cranes.
“FUFA hereby announces that Mr. Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has been appointed Head coach of the Uganda Cranes on a three year renewable contract effective 1st August 2021,” the federation said in a statement.
Micho marks a return to the team after leaving in 2017 following a four-year stint. Then, Frenchman Sebastien Desabre took over.
Micho who will address the media on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 has a contractual mandate to name his backroom staff.
Micho who recently left the Zambian national team will replace Jonathan Mckinstry who was axed in March 2021. Abdallah Mubiru was named an interim Coach after Mckinstry’s departure.
Micho has in the past had stints with SC Villa, Saint George SA(twice), Orlando Pirates(twice), Al Hilal Omdurman, Young Africans FC, Rwanda national team, Zamalek, Uganda national team and the Zambian national team.
