Lady Doves FC will be hoping for three more points when they take on Simba Queens in their second group game at the CAF Women Champions League qualifiers.
Having won the FUFA Women Super League earlier this year, the Masindi based side are representing Uganda at the competition.
They dispatched FAD Club 5-0 on Saturday to get their campaign off to a flying start.
However, it will not be easy as they come up against another side that won their first game.
Simba Queens who played later on Saturday, beat PVP Buyenza 4-1 and currently sit second in the group.
Ahead of the game, Lady Doves assistant coach Rajab Buyinza is hoping for another victory.
“We thank God for the win in the first game and pray to him so that we can take all three points again on Tuesday. Buyinza said.
The players are okay and those that got knocks in the first game have recovered well. We hope that if God is on our side, we will be able to win our second game.
Buyinza says that they have studied Simba Queens and they hope to pounce on the Tanzanians errors.0
“We have prepared well, good that we watched them (Simba Queens) and we will do all in our powers to defend them well so that we win.
“To us, every game is a final, we will not be complacent in any way because if you lose one game, it becomes complicated. What we want is to achieve an automatic slot into the semis and that can only be achieved by topping the group.
“Simba Queens is a champion in Tanzania and we will respect them and try to capitalize on their mistakes.”
Lady Doves have concerns over star-player Fazila Ikwaput who scored twice against FAD Club.
The forward has been nursing a knock which kept her out of training on Monday.
However, she is expected to recover in time for the match against Simba Queens.
The other group A game on Tuesday will see PVP Buyenzi taking on FAD Club at the Nyayo National Stadium at 4pm.
The top two teams in each of the two groups qualify for the tournament’s semi final.
The eventual winner will represent the CECAFA region at the CAF Women Champions League inaugural edition that will take place0 in Cairo, Egypt later this year.
