Ugandan professional golfer Ronald Rugumayo on Monday made the money cut during the second round of the second event of the Safari Tour Season 4 (2021/22) at Vet Lab Sports Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

After two rounds, Rugumayo is tied for seventh with four others off 5 over par 149, shooting 74 and 75 on day one and day two respectively.

Rugumayo is the only Ugandan player to make it to the final bend of the competition. Other four Ugandans Brian Toolit, Philip Kasozi, Deo Akope and Abbey Bagalana couldn’t cross the red line albeit doing so in the opening round.

Rugumayo is also the third best foreign (non Kenyan) player post round two. The best two foreign players are the Zimbabwean duo of Robson Chinhoi and day one leader Tafara Mpofu who are tied for second off 1 over par 145.

Kenyan pro Greg Snow who missed the first event at Sigona Golf Club due to injury is leader after two days off a level par 144 (74 and 70).

Day three action will tee-off at 10 a.m on Tuesday with 24 players (ties inclusive) divided into eight groups set to compete for the pro kitty and Safari Tour points.
