All the 58 golfers who played in the first round of the third leg of the Safari Tour Season 4 at the par 71 Great Rift Lodge & Golf Resort course, Naivasha on Sunday made the first round cut after everyone got not more than 13 over par 84.
For the first time this season all the golfers made the first round cut. However, only the top 20 players (including ties) will make the money cut on Monday as professionals seek for both cash and Safari Tour points.
However, Muthaiga Golf Club’s Greg Snow is day one leader off five under par 66, three shots ahead of Dismas Indiza and Golf Park’s David Wakhu who both returned two under par 69 to tie for second place.
There are four Ugandans in the Great Rift Golf Resort leg of the Safari Tour that is; Philip Kasozi (T11, 1 over par 72), Abbey Bagalana (T31, 4 over par 75), Brian Toolit (T47, 8 over par 79) and Abraham Ainamani (54, 10 over 81).
Junior amateur golfer Taimur Malik of Muthaiga who won the opening leg at Sigona Golf Club is in the mix at Great Rift Golf Resort. In the opening round he is tied for 11th with six others off 1 over par 72 including Ugandan pro Philip Kasozi.
