According to Uganda Rugby Union (URU), the Guinness 7s will take a two-week break with three out of the six circuits of the series already played.
This means that there will be a break in the weeknd of 23rd October and 30th October 2021. Initially, there was meant to be just one break, slated for this weekend.
“We shall resume on the 6/7th November with Rujumba7s and the rest of the circuits will continue in subsequent dates,” URU said in a missive with the said event set to be hosted by 2018 winners Black Pirates at Kings Park, Bweyogerere.
However, most of the coaches have welcomed this development saying that players will get enough rest having traveled to Gulu and Soroti Cities for the second and third circuit respectively. Opening circuit was held in Kampala.
With just three events left to wind down the series, Kobs lead the Guinness 7s table with 66 points, 11 ahead of second placed Black Pirates and 13 ahead of third placed Heathens.
Meanwhile, the following players and more will be summoned for the Safari 7s squad. The event is also one of the reasons for the break.
