Prior to their Uganda Premier League clash with debutants Arua Hill SC slated for Tuesday, 26th October 2021 at Barifa Stadium, Onduparaka FC have been handed a sponsorship boost as the side renewed their partnership with their lead sponsors AbaBet Uganda.

The club also revealed their new kits for the 2021/22 season (home, away and third kit), new signings who were unveiled virtually in an exercise that took place on Monday, 25th October at Protea Skyz Hotel in Naguru, Kampala.

Earlier this year, Onduparaka and AbaBet entered into a partnership worth Six Hundred Twenty Five Million Shillings (UGX625,000,000) running for three years.

Onduparaka Marketing Officer Mercy Munduru says that the renewal of the partnership with AbaBet is good for the club as they now aim to finish in the top six in the league which is already underway.

“Last season was challenging because of many reasons but we are glad that we are still here. Managing football can be very tedious especially for an upcountry club,” Munduru said adding that the support from partners make their work manageable.

AbaBet Marketing Officer Prince Kangume said at the partnership renewal that 2021 has been hard but the deal with Onduparaka is worth it. He now urges the side to push on to the horizons.

However, in Arua this Tuesday, the maiden West Nile derby between Onduparaka who are in their sixth season in the top tier division and Arua Hill who are new comers will be the talk of town.

Both sides have had a positive start to the season with Onduparaka getting four points from two games off a 1-1 draw against UPDF and a 1-0 win over Bright Stars. Arua Hill on the other hand condemned title holders Express FC to a 0-2 defeat in the opening matchday of the season and will seek to keep it that way in their second outing.

However, according to Munduru, the West Nile derby is much more than a match for they are eager to play an away fixture in Arua for the first time.

“We’re also eager to inspire a new set of players (in Arua Hill). Against them, we shall approach the game with so much respect as their elder brothers,” Munduru added.

The match will kickoff at 3 PM (EAT) and will be live on Sanyuka TV.
