Arua Hill SC and Onduparaka FC settled for a barren stalemate in their first ever football meeting. The two sides clashed on Tuesday, 26th October during the Uganda Premier League cracker dubbed the Arua Derby/West Nile Derby at Barifa Stadium.

The match that had a strong build up both in media spaces and on ground (in Arua City) was however marred by crowd troubles after a section of fans forced their way into the ground. However, the situation was contained by security albeit match delay.

Both sides had a fair share of the game but failed to break the deadlock that could have set the atmosphere ablaze.

Arua Hill’s Alfred Leku almost drilled first blood but his effort was tamed by goalie Michael Kagiri who was equal to the task. Isaac Okello would later clear the rebound.

Another Arua Hill’s chance saw Joseph Vuni head a free kick wide. It was delivered by Gadafi Wahab.

For Onduparaka, Ibrahim Magandaazi had one of the best chances but he struggled to capitalize on Rashid Agau’s delivery.

The draw means that both sides are still unbeaten in the 2021/22 season. Arua Hill now have four points from two matches while Onduparaka has five points from three games.

In their next matches, Arua Hill will be on the road against Mbarara City while Onduparaka will play host to BUL FC.
