Tooro United FC vs Busoga United FC
Buhinga Grounds
Friday, 05-11-2021 @3pm
Tooro United have started the season fairly well and to some, they have exceeded expectations.
The Fort Portal based side who are rocked with ownership disputes have gone on to collect four points from a possible nine.
They have defeated Mbarara City FC and drew with Gaddafi FC.
The only game they did not collect points from was the 2-0 loss away to KCCA FC, a fixture that everyone one expected them to lose, anyways.
The disputes that are currently in court regarding forgery by Alice Namatovu have not affected the team on the field of play.
However, it is understood that the players are yet to receive their payments and they are starting to lose patience.
Where this will transpire on the pitch, remains to be seen.
For Busoga, they also started the season well as they took care of Gaddafi FC in their opening game.
However, they have since slowed down as they have lost their past two games.
They went down 1-0 at home to KCCA before losing away to Wakiso Giants by the same score line.
Despite losing several players, they have looked good especially on the pitch and will hope that can continue against a Tooro United side that usually doesn’t lose many at home.
Tooro United will continue to miss the services of several players who have refused to join the team due to unpaid sign-on fees. Hamis Gabite is injured and will not feature on Friday. Denis Ojara is available despite getting injured against KCCA.
Busoga United will have Elvis Ngonde return after serving suspension following his sending off against Gaddafi. Paul Ssekulima, Joseph Mukisa and Elvis Kibale are all ruled out for the clash.
This will be the 8th meeting between the two sides since September 2016. In the past seven meetings, Tooro have won three, Busoga one with the other four games all ending in draws. Tooro have lost only one of their four games at home to Busoga United (W2 D1). The two sides last met in the 2019/20 season with Tooro winning 2-1 in Fort Portal while to other fixture was cancelled because of COVID-19. Tooro United have scored in all their games against Busoga United.
