Event: 2021 Tusker Malt Uganda Golf Open

The 2021 Tusker Malt Golf Open will tee-off on Thursday, 18th November at Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course with the championship marking its 80th staging overall.
Lady golfers will tee-off proceedings with their event also known as the Uganda Ladies Open. 32 players have registered for the do with one Kenyan and two Tanzanian players being the the only foreign players in the mix.
A ceremonial tee-off was held on Wednesday, 17th November on the course, an exercising done by sponsor representatives and members from Uganda Golf Union (UGU) and Uganda Ladies Golf Union (ULGU).
“We have some wonderful items for the winners…we also have a subsidiary where we expect our male counterparts to join us on Saturday,” ULGU President Anne Abeja said adding that there will be prizes for seniors and guests.
Tusker Malt earlier on announced their sponsorship for the tournament. They availed a UGX300 Million package with UGX100M being the pro kitty with the professionals set to play their event next month.
“As the main sponsors we are very excited that we’ve reached this day. It’s been lots of planning and preparations but we’re glad that we’re ready. We’re very excited for the players and we look forward to a fantastic tournament,” Elizabeth Mutamuliza, UBL head of premium beers said after the ceremonial tee-off.
Tournament Director Anthony Agaba says that all is set for the tee-off as everything is in fantastic shape. SOPs meant to curb the spread of Covid-19 are in place and also the security of the facility has been taken care of.
After the ladies event, the Amateur Open which is the main event of the championship will take place between 24th to 27th November.
