Uganda U-20 women’s national football team head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi says that there were lots of positives to pick from his side’s 2-1 loss to top tier outfit She Corporate in a friendly match played on Tuesday, 23rd November at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

The national team which is currently in camp used to friendly as a build up match for their U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier clash against South Africa.

For Kiyingi, albeit dropping points, the girls put in a good shift despite finishing in the loosing end.

“It was a great game of character,’’ Kiyingi told FUFA website after the practice match played under sunny conditions.

‘’The first half was excellent and we led 1-0. I changed the entire team to test the other players. Unfortunately, we lost. We shall improve upon the grey areas urgently,’’ Kiyingi added.

Kiyingi was also impressed by the right trend of improvement from many of the players but openly expressed the desire to better the performance.

Sumaya Komuntale gave the national junior side the lead on 42 minutes for the half time lead.

Favour Nambatya and Phiona Nabumba replied for She Corporate in the 50th and 80th minutes respectively.

Kiyingi used two different teams per half to guage the level of readiness; fitness wise and tactically for all the players in camp at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.

Meanwhile, the team resumes training on Wednesday afternoon at Lugogo (3 PM).
