Police FC on Tuesday held KCCA FC to a one all draw at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo to deny them chance of going to the top of the Startimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) table.

Before the fixture, KCCA (41 points then) were just two points behind log leaders Vipers SC who play their matchday 21 fixture tomorrow against Busoga United.

At Lugogo, it looked like a goal fest as both sides struck early in the game but the two sides would later fire blanks for the largest part of the encounter.

In the fourth minute, Ashraf Mugume gave the Kasasiro Boys the lead when he curled in a beautiful free kick.

However, the Cops evened matters four minutes later courtesy of Julius Balinya spot kick that was accurately converted.

KCCA missed chances throughout the game and were almost made to pay for it when Police’s Tonny Mawejje was denied from freekick. Marvin Oshaba’s also missed from close range as the Cops also nicked it at the death.

KCCA who now have 42 points and second on the table still lag behind Vipers and a win for the Venoms tomorrow will stretch their lead by four points.

Police on the other hand are 10th with 23 points.
