KCCA FC winger Rogers Mato has expressed concern about the lack of goals in the recent games by the club.
Mato who joined KCCA FC in the 2021/22 season spoke with the club website and he addressed concerns regarding the team’s struggles in front of the goal.
“What is costing us is finding the back of the net,” Mato told the club website adding that; “We have had games where we created chances but failed to tuck them away.”
However,Mato says that they’ve been working on this as a team because scoring is a collective effort for the team.
“We look better when we score because this helps us to play confidently as a team. We will continue to work on this and we hope to get more clinical in the coming games.”
KCCA has dropped points in their previous two Uganda Premier League matches, settling for a barren stalemate against SC Villa and recently drawing 1-1 against Police FC.
Mato has scored two goals for KCCA FC this season in the games against SC Villa (Away) and Police FC (Home). The winger had set targets for himself in his first season at the club.
“At the beginning of the season I set a target to score 10-17 goals but I have got to review that now and I hope to score 3-4 more goals before the end of the season
Mato Rogers,” Mato said.
The shirt number 3 will be hoping he can find the back of the net more often as the Kasasiro Boys seek to win this season’s league title.
After 21 games in the two-round league, KCCA are second on the 15-team table with 42 points, four behind leaders Vipers SC, scoring 31 goals are conceding 15.
