SC Villa increased their credentials of remaining in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) when they beat Mbarara City 2-1 on Tuesday at the Fufa Technical centre in Njeru.

The win takes troubled Villa to the 10th position in the 16-team league table with 28 points and are now four points clear over the relegation zone.

Isaac Ogwang and Sadam Masereka were on target for Villa who much needed maximum points with the 2021/22 season now in it’s final bend.

Mbarara City on the other hand are in deep trouble as they sit second last on the table off 22 points. They only have four games left to wind down the season.

Meanwhile, Tooro United have officially been relegated from the top tier division after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the hands of UPDF at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.

The result meant that Tooro United remained in the rock bottom of the table with 10 points and not even a miracle can save them as they only have four games left to wind down the season.

At Bombo, a goal from UPDF’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe sent Tooro to the FUFA Big League where they will be playing in the 2022/23 season.

The result means UPDF move to 8th on the table with 33 points after 26 matches.

UPDF will seek to maintain their form when they welcome URA on Friday 29th April. Tooro United on the other hand will host KCCA FC.
