The FUFA Women Super League returns today after a fortnight following the successful climax of the USSSA Games in Gulu City.
It should be noted that the FUFA Competitions Department allowed a break to give student- players chance to feature for their respective schools.
The biggest game as the League returns will be a top of the table clash between Uganda Martyrs WFC and She Corporate FC at St. Gerald’s Stadium, Lubaga on Friday.
She Corporate make a short trip to Lubaga top of the log on 25 points and will seek to maintain their grip on pole position.
However, their slump against Rines SS prior to the break where they were held to a one all draw at home might have pointed to challenges especially ineffectiveness infront of goal.
They equally meet Uganda Martyrs who slipped in their last outing, falling 1-0 on road to Olila High School WFC.
With three points behind She Corporate, the school side will hope to seize this opportunity to go level on points with the runaway leaders and also avenge for the 2-0 loss in the reverse fixture.
Kampala Queens is not far away from the title race and are on level on points with Uganda Martyrs. Their trip to Kawempe Muslim therefore means a lot in their pursuit for glory this season.
Since losing 2-0 to Kawempe Muslim on matchday one, Kampala Queens are unbeaten, winning six games and drawing the other four.
Margaret Kunihira a former player at Kawempe Muslim will be meeting her former employers for the first time since leaving. She wasn’t involved in the first leg fixture.
The other game to be played on Friday, bottom placed She Maroons who have just six points will renew their survival fight with a home fixture against Lady Doves FC.
In the first round, She Maroons FC picked a point off Lady Doves in Masindi. The game ended goalless at Katusabe Stadium.
Action will continue on Saturday with UCU Lady Cardinals hosting Olila High School WFC in a game that will come as the climax of the launch of the FUFA League Development Project.
The project, an initiative by FUFA and presented to FIFA is aimed at developing women league football and other areas of the game in the Country.
The final game of matchday 12 will come on Sunday with Tooro Queens hosting Rines SS WFC at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal City.
