NBL: Nabisunsa Girls secure second win of the season

Nabisunsa Girls started the second round of the Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) on a winning note after picking a 53-49 victory over Magic Stormers on Saturday at the Kampala International University (KIU) basketball court in Kansanga, Kampala.

The victory over Magic Stormers was just Nabisunsa’s second of the regular season, breathing survival hopes into the secondary school outfit.

Albeit the win, Nabisunsa are not entirely safe at the moment as they are eighth on the 10-team table with 12 points.

Magic Stormers on the other hand are fifth on the table with 15 points off five wins and five losses.

On Saturday, Darlene Tashobya stood out for Nabisunsa shooting a double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. She was named Tusker Lite player of the game.

Other top performers for Nabisunsae were Peace Karungi with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Sarah Namale had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist whilst Tamasha Nsubuga had 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

For Magic Stormers the top performers included Christine Nakito with 13 points and 20 rebounds. Daphine Adong had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

NBL action continues on Sunday at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala. Five games will be played.
