Manzoki stands out as Vipers dominate Pilsner SUPL Awards

Vipers SC forward Cesar Manzoki picked up five individual gongs during the Pilsner StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) Awards held on Friday evening at the Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo in Kampala.

The 2021/22 season awards also saw Manzoki get named in the best XI of the domestic league which his side won a couple of weeks ago.

Manzoki’s individuals awards were; player of the season, top scorer of the season, players’ player of the season, player with most assists and forward of the season.

Manzoki was a very important player to the Venoms as he finished the season with 18 goals and nine assists, guiding the Kitende based outfit to their fifth league title.

“I am happy about this night, this is my hard work being recognized and appreciated. I want to thank my team for the hard work we put in together during the just ended season. Thank you Pilsner for organizing this event,” Manzoni said adding that his spell at the club so far has been amazing.

Vipers stole the show at the awards ceremony as their skipper Halid Lwaliwa was named defender of the season while his fellow venom Siraje Sentamu took midfielder of the season award.

Former Vipers forward Muhammad Shaban who now plays for Arua based side Onduparaka FC was named coaches’ player of the season. He also featured in the team of the season.

Vipers SC President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa , also FUFA Honorary President received the Platinum Award.

Vipers head coach Roberto Oliviera won the coach of the season award.

After making their league debut in the 2021/22 campaign, Arua Hill SC stormed straight to the awards table with Rashid Kawawa claiming young player of the season award whilst Richard Anyama was named goalkeeper of the season. Defender Bright Vuni was named in the team of the season.

UPDF FC took the fair play team of the season award whilst KCCA FC was consoled when Kikawa Richard Oponka was named fan of the season plus defender Herbert Achai getting named in the team of the season.

Vipers took five spots in the best XI of the season.
