“Kenya Rugby Union has informed us that with prevailing economic conditions and looming general elections in their country, they are unfortunately unable to play the Cup this year,” URU said via a missive.
Uganda Rugby will now shift focus to other international activities majorly for the 7s side notably the 2022 Commonwealth Games, World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series and the Rugby Sevens World Cup.
Locally, the National Rugby 7s Series is set to kick-off in less than a month’s time. Other events are also lined up for later this year.
