Atibu bounces back to coaching rugby in Tanzania

Atibu (with the ball) talks to some of the players recently

Former Jinja Hippos (a Uganda Rugby Premier League side) head coach and player Saidi Atibu is back to coaching rugby as he will be handling the National team of Tanzania.

“This week on Wednesday (27th July) I will be coaching the National team of Tanzania. The country has for a longtime had no national rugby team but on Wednesday they will be playing in an international friendly against the Ireland Raileys Club in Zanzibar, Tanzania and am currently the head coach,” Atibu told our reporter.

Atibu adds that the game is going to be historical because since 1993 they (Tanzania) have never had a national team and this will be a new begining.

“I have also put down pen to paper as commitment to the national team training for all upcoming games. It’s a big comeback to my Coaching career,” Atibu added.

Atibu also revealed that he is open to returning to Jinja Hippos in the near future.
