Lukwago signs five-year deal with KCCA FC

Haruna Lukwago has penned a five-year deal with Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The 5.9 ft right fullback/winger will have his contract run from 2022 – 2027.

Lukwago joins KCCA FC from Mbale Heroes Football Club.

He has also previously played for CRO FC, Rwampara Bulls, and Mbarara City FC Junior Team.

The right full-back also featured for the KCCA FC U20 side in the just concluded Cambiasso and Rainbow International Tournament in Dar es salaam, Tanzania which KCCA FC won.

Lukwago while speaking to the club website revealed his delight in joining the Lugogo base side.

“I am delighted to join KCCA FC. It is every young player’s dream to play for a club like KCCA FC. I was so happy when I got my first chance with the club in the Cambiasso and Rainbow U20 International Tournament in Dar es salaam, Tanzania and we won it. It was a very good feeling for me and my mates. It is the same success I want to achieve now that I have been signed to the senior team,” Lukwago said.

“I want to give my best for this club and win here. I have shared with the junior team coaches Richard Malinga, Saka Mpiima and the Club Manager Morley Byekwaso who have told me the responsibilities of the senior team are different from those of the junior team and I believe I am ready for the task ahead,” he added.

Haruna Lukwago will be competing for a spot in the squad with Fillbert Obenchan, Mujuzi Musitafa among others.

Lukwago becomes the tenth player to join KCCA FC in this transfer window after Daniel Isiagi, Mujuzi Musitafa, Shaban Muhamad, Tshisungu Kankonde, Moses Waiswa, Ssenoga Muhamed, and teenagers Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja, and Allan Enyou.
